Step into a time when opulence meant ornate chandeliers, mahogany walls and hand-painted ceilings. Built in 1925 as the Hotel Duluth, it was widely acclaimed as one of the finest hotels on the continent. Today, Black Woods has restored Greysolon Ballroom to its original splendor, making it the perfect venue for a regency-style, elegant New Year's Eve celebration. Come enjoy a truly spectacular event, as the Greysolon Ballroom features exquisite details, such as hand-painted ceilings and magnificent chandeliers.
The Moorish Room at Greysolon
This historic event venue has a unique ambiance that will sweep you back in time. Originally the restaurant for the Hotel Duluth, the Moorish Room was used in the filming of Iron Will. With romantic wall sconces and chandeliers and hand-painted murals, this event space is one-of-a-kind in Duluth. The Moorish Room is conveniently located off the fabulous Greysolon Plaza lobby. Its mosaic tile dance floor and mahogany bar make it ideal for our New Year's event!
The Historic Norshor Theater
The restored NorShor offers reason alone to consider downtown Duluth your New Year's destination of choice. This classic landmark has been restored to all its original glory, allowing you to experience the joy and wonder of live theater in a unique historic setting with modern-day amenities.
Black Water Lounge
Although it's currently closed and under construction for a brand new venue, the Black Water Lounge will re-open especially for this event - one night only! It will NOT be open to the general public- you will have to have a ticket to the event to gain entrance into the lounge. Pardon the construction- it will still be converted into the high energy dance party hall that made it just a hit last New Year's Eve!
